Mp bugged at Milton Keynes prison

A ex police intelligence officer mark Kearney claims that he bugged a mp’s interview to a prisoner.

Mr Kearney a former police intelligence officer at Woodhill prison Milton Keynes said that he did not want to bug the mp sadiq khan but that he was put under “significant presher by the met police to do so”.

It is also said that it was Mr Kearney was the one who leaked this information to the papers but Mr Kearney has not admitted to these charges

But the home office was not informed of this event until December and that the bbc found out that the home sectary’s Jacqui Smith and the justices sectary jack straw had not been aware until the Sunday times released the report this weekend

Mr Kearney also quoted that “ I'm shocked and disgusted by this leakage to the media - I believe it puts my life and safety at risk

The debate now will focus on whether political surveillance is returning, or whether MPs - like us all - should be liable to be bugged if there is a perceived threat to national security.

And that the political editor nick Robinson also stated

The debate now will focus on whether political surveillance is returning, or whether MPs - like us all - should be liable to be bugged if there is a perceived threat to national security.
